Obomo Church Fellowship
I am Felix Omar Okima from Kisii, Kenya. My wife, son and I are the pastor family of the Obomo Church Fellowship in Kisii. Our ministry was founded in 2010 to give humanitarian relief and development for the poor and needy. Because of the great cooperation and work from our staff, the community, volunteers, and our partner organizations we are bringing hope and changes in the lives of more than 1,000 lives in the Kisii and Gucha regions of Kenya. We started with around 50 members and we have grown to 179 members in the church ministry. Our fellowship is committed to demonstrating God's love through the work of the ministry as we seek to help people overcome poverty and suffering. By sharing the Word of God we are helping people experience life in a more fuller way.
All the members of the Obomo Church Fellowship are seeing that their service brings hope and changes the lives of most poor, sick and suffering. We reach out to help all people, regardless of their religious beliefs, gender, race, or ethnic background. Our community-based programs include humanitarian assistance to IDPs, community rehabilitation projects and long-term poverty-fighting projects. Working closely with the communities we serve, we develop innovative and lasting solutions to meet their needs.
It is our mission to be a local Christian fellowship that changes lives by harnessing the compassion and commitment of dedicated volunteers to deliver sustainable, high-impact, community-based services to the poor and needy.
We are fulfilling our mission by training our members in spiritual matters first, to impact the region with the gospel. Then we are working to provide educational, recreational and other social resources to generate skills and income in areas of agriculture, personal development, health issues, and family values. Then we in turn show the members how to promote these abilities in the community. It is motivating and training our members to be productive in their personal lives while building up our society overall.
On September 9, 2016 I made contact with Pastor Johnny Holland from Bless Ministries Mobile USA on Facebook and we started having a conversation. I asked him to pray for our ministry and I gave him my email. He sent me information about Bless Ministries and we began the process of becoming partners. On November 28, 2016 we were issued sponsorship letters and a certificate of license and became partners in ministry.
Though we are a fairly new ministry, we have established solid foundations with the community and our numbers are growing daily.
