Claim It and Loose It!

Luke 5:1-9….

So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, 2 and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. 3 Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat.4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” 6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. 7 So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. 8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!” 9 For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish which they had taken.

GOD CREATED US TO LIVE IN EXPECTATION OF HIS GOODNESS.

It shapes our expectations when we KNOW the GOODNESS OF GOD.

What you believe about God will affect your life, your family, and your future. Your view of God’s nature will shape your expectations about His goodness and favor in life. When you have the right view of God’s nature, it shapes your thinking, expectations, and faith…and it helps you respond correctly to attacks and adversity.

We can be in the middle of dire circumstances and know that somehow, someway, something good is going to come from it.

The goodness of God causes us to live in Godly expectation…

Psalm 27:13-14… I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!”

Expect God’s healing when you are sick….. By the name of Jesus you are healed. . . Claim it!

Expect God’s provision when you have a bill to pay…… Speak to the bill that it is paid in the name of Jesus. . .Claim it!

Expect God’s mercy when you make a mistake…. Ask for forgiveness. . .Claim it!

Expect God’s wisdom when you don’t know what to do…… Prayer for it and Claim it!

Expect God’s favor on every part of your life… Claim it!

The goodness of God causes you to live in confidence that no matter what others do…God can turn it around for you. . .Claim it!

Genesis 50:20… “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but god meant it for good, in order to bring about as it is this day, to save many people.”

Declare it today… “Before this is over—you will see the goodness of God on display in my life!”

The Key principle from Joseph’s life… He learned to keep his focus and expectations on God and His goodness and not his disappointments.

If we remain focused on the goodness of God He has a way of turning the very thing we once thought was going to be our grave into a platform for grace!

Someone who is always looking in their past and trying to “get even” simply can’t guard what is in the present or protect what may be in store for the future…

God can cause all things, even evil attacks, to work for His glory and the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

Trust and faith need two eyes forward, not backwards. Trust that God has your back!

Genesis 45:17-28…

And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Say to your brothers, ‘Do this: Load your animals and depart; go to the land of Canaan. 18 Bring your father and your households and come to me; I will give you the best of the land of Egypt, and you will eat the fat of the land. 19 Now you are commanded—do this: Take carts out of the land of Egypt for your little ones and your wives; bring your father and come. 20 Also do not be concerned about your goods, for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.’”21 Then the sons of Israel did so; and Joseph gave them carts, according to the command of Pharaoh, and he gave them provisions for the journey. 22 He gave to all of them, to each man, changes of garments; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of garments. 23 And he sent to his father these things: ten 2 donkeys loaded with the good things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain, bread, and food for his father for the journey. 24 So he sent his brothers away, and they departed; and he said to them, “See that you do not become troubled along the way.”25 Then they went up out of Egypt, and came to the land of Canaan to Jacob their father. 26 And they told him, saying, “Joseph is still alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt.” And Jacob’s heart stood still, because he did not believe them. 27 But when they told him all the words which Joseph had said to them, and when he saw the carts which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived. 28 Then Israel said, “It is enough. Joseph my son is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.”

The provision is not our God…it’s a testimony to our God.

We don’t worship the provision…we worship the God of the provision.

We use the provision to fulfill the vision.

Now is the Set Time of God’s goodness and favor”...

I’m coming out of this…but I’m not coming out empty handed! God has prepared and planned something far greater for you than you have been able to dream up yourself. God's day of unrelenting goodness and favor is upon you.

Luke 4:18-19…

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
