I Hear the Sounds. . .of Breakthrough

The Kingdom of God is invisible but for the believer it is more real than what we live in.

What you live in flows out of what you cannot see with your natural eye.

The enemy does not want you to access the kingdom that you can't see, because he knows that if you access the kingdom that you can't see, it will affect the world that you do see.

He wants to keep you stuck in the thing that was meant to be temporary, to where it becomes eternal. If he can keep you focused on the temporary you lose your focus and fixation on God.

I don't want anybody to be put in a place where what was to last a little while stays with us forever. This is why it is important that we hear the sound of breakthrough.

The enemy knows that if he can keep you blinded by the present he can keep you out of the promises God has given you for today and tomorrow.

Repeat this declaration:

"I will not stay stuck in the temporary, I will live in the eternal!

Being in a Season

There is a difference in being in a season and being stagnate.

Winter should not last twelve months!

I can identify with this and I know you can because I live like you do. It takes God every day.

Being stagnate is called getting stuck

Joshua lead Israel around Jericho for seven days (Joshua 6:4), not for the rest of their lives.

Seasons have a beginning and they have an ending.

When we get into a place where we are stuck; a place where we are wallowing and become stagnate, if you are not careful and start listening to some religious people, you will start praying to become a better slave to a place you do not belong.

But I declare today that in our lives, in the life of this church, I hear the sound of breakthrough!

I am hearing the sound of breakthrough!

I declare that I may look like a slave right now, but I am not a citizen of this place!

I am not a citizen of stagnate!

I am not a citizen of stuck!

And I am not a citizen of this particular season!

I may look broke to you right now, but I am not a citizen of broke!

I may look a little confused but that is not where my citizenship lies!

I may be hurting right now but I am not staying here!

I may look sick right now, but I am a citizen of a land called Healthy, Whole and Healed!

So, stop praying to become a better slave because there is a sound of freedom for your life.

I declare over you today, "You are released and unleashed in Jesus name, from every place you are not supposed to be dwelling in."

The Sound

Philippians Chapter 2 is still in the Bible:

Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. [Phl 2:9-10 NKJV]

Palm 89:15

Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O LORD, in the light of Your countenance.

You are blessed and favored when you know that joyful sound and God's face shines upon you with favor.

Joshua 6:5

It shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him.

This was when they were marching around Jericho. What was to signal the walls falling down and them having a breakthrough was a certain sound.

God proclaimed breakthrough with a sound.

Breakthrough means:

  • A place of new birth

  • A place of new beginnings

  • A place of breaking forth with sudden force

  • To make a break from a restraining condition

  • An act of breaking through an obstacle with sudden advance into new areas

  • Other words are: shatter, smash, breakup, crush, splinter, burst, break in pieces, demolish, over through, spread out, advance, divide, go forward.

  • It means to destroy by the anointing of the Holy Spirit any and all obstacles that hinders progress, to advance beyond previous limitations.

It is time for a breakthrough! It is break-out!

In 1Kings Chapter 18 there has been a drought, prophets have been slain, and things are happening, and then in verse 41:

Then Elijah said to Ahab, "Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain."

In the natural, at that particular moment, there was probably not one cloud in the sky, yet Elijah said he heard something.

So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees. . . [1Ki 18:42 NKJV]

Elijah is in intersession, he is in worship, and is bringing forth something in the spirit as the Spirit of God intercedes through him. He told the servant to go up and look. The servant said there was nothing, but the prophet kept saying go again, for seven times (1Kings 18:43).

Sometimes you just have keep saying "Go Again".

Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, "There is a cloud, as small as a man's hand, rising out of the sea!" So he said, "Go up, say to Ahab, 'Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.' " [1Ki 18:44 NKJV]

You need to get your chariot ready! You have been believing God for His promises, "Get your chariot ready so you can load it up! Whatever it is; whatever you need to fill that chariot with, get it ready.

If you have been waiting for a job. . .prepare yourself to do that job.

If you have been waiting to have a child. . .prepare the nursery.

If you have been waiting for a ministry. . .prepare the ground for that ministry.

If you have been waiting for a breakthrough. . .prepare what is necessary for that breakthrough.

While everyone else saw a cloud the size of a man's hand Elijah heard the sound of a great rain.

He told them He knew what they were seeing but He heard the abundance of rain.

Elijah was telling them to not get caught up in only what they could see, when you can hear what I am hearing.

While everyone was seeing a small could that gave no sound, Elijah saw a small cloud that was giving a big sound.

When life is putting you in a place that may seem small you have to listen with ears that can hear the bigger sound. You have to declare, "I hear a sound and it is coming with abundance!"

When you do this, you are saying to the forces of darkness and anything and everything,

"My life may look small right now, but I hear the sound of something big."

"My life may look impossible right now, but I hear the sound of all things are possible."

"I may not look like much right now but there is something that I hear on the inside of me is telling me that God is not finished with me yet!"

"My life may look small right now, but I hear a sound coming from the mountain and it says, "Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight His paths!"

What Sound do You Chose to Hear?

The quality of your life is going to be determined by the sound you chose to hear!

The voices that you allow to influence your life are so important.

Act 2:1-2

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Most people read the outpouring in the book of Acts wrong.

The Bible says there suddenly came a Sound from Heaven. God moves from a sound.

Sometimes you have to hear it in the Spirit. At this particular time in Acts they heard it in the Spirit and in the natural.

It did not say it was a wind, it said it was a sound LIKE wind. Most people read this and think they were about to be blown off of their chairs, but that is not what is said. It was a SOUND AS, which is like a rushing might wind.

Act 2:3-4

Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Every great move of God has a particular sound both corporately and individually.

We are called as a people to help empower generations to release the sound that God has given them for that generation. It is time that we pour ourselves in to the next generations to empower them and encourage them to hear the sounds of their gifts and callings. Then release them to go forth and be a light in the darkness.

Now when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to search for David. . .2Samuel 5:17.

We think about David defeating Goliath and that once he had killed Goliath, that battle was over, and the Philistines were defeated, but this was just not so. They heard that David was anointed king over Israel and they got to thinking David killed Goliath, he will probably come after us too, so we better be proactive and do something. So, they chose to go find David.

And David heard of it and went down to the stronghold. . .2Samuel 5:17.

David went down to a save place where he could seek God; where he could hear from God.

This was a place where God's voice was loudest and strongest in his life.

The Philistines also went and deployed themselves in the Valley of Rephaim. So David inquired of the LORD, saying, "Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?" And the LORD said to David, "Go up, for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into your hand." So David went to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there; and he said, "The LORD has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water." Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim. [2Sa 5:18-20 NKJV]

Baal Perazim meant Lord of the Breakthrough, master of the breakthrough, God of the breakthrough.

Our God is the God of the breakthrough!

David decided to change the name of that valley to the "God of the Breakthrough" because God had broken through on his enemies; He has delivered me in this place.

But they were not finished, the Philistines came back again.

Have you ever felt that once you got past something you defeated that and all the sudden it has a resurrection? So did David.

Then the Philistines went up once again and deployed themselves in the Valley of Rephaim. Therefore David inquired of the LORD, and He said, "You shall not go up; circle around behind them, and come upon them in front of the mulberry trees. "And it shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall advance quickly. [2Sa 5:22-24 NKJV]

The sound is going to be release quickly and you are going to know something is happening in the Spirit.

For then the LORD will go out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines." And David did so, as the LORD commanded him; and he drove back the Philistines from Geba as far as Gezer. [2Sa 5:24-25 NKJV]

David did not assume the way he defeated the Philistines the first time would be the way he would defeat them the second time or even the third time. He inquired of the Lord Again.

If I would have been David I would have been tempted to think I knew how to whip them rascals. He did not say to arm everyone with some slingshots and rocks.

David did not do it that way. . .He went to the save place. . .He inquired of the Lord. . .God gave him a plan. . .and he carried it out in victory.

If you want to experience breakthroughs in our lives daily: In your life, your calling, your ministry, your gifting, or any part of your life, you must stay a life-long student of the Holy Spirit. . .You must hear the sound of breakthrough even when no one else does.

Favor with God comes out of developing an intimacy with God and the Holy Spirit.

You must be open to the sound of the Spirit.

Here is a testimony someone shared with me. This person said to me:

"Sometimes when you go through a struggle you may say, "God where are you in all of this?" That is how I felt. One day I was walking with a bag of laundry and a man said to me could he help me. I said, "No, I've got it." I admit I was a little snappy. I walked to the back of my car and I was thinking, "I should have let him help me," but pride kept me from hearing. The man came up to my car and told me to roll down my window. The man grabbed my hands and said, "This is from Jesus not from me." He put money in my hand and walked away. When I counted the money, it was $760 in 20 dollar bills.

Sometimes God's answers look different than what we had in mind.

Sometimes we missed the promise because we missed the package it came in or we don't like the package it came in.

People say, "I am not going to listen to that guy he is from this denomination. . .or I am not going to listen to this guy teach because he. . .

If God can speak through a donkey (Numbers 22:28). . .

There may be a lot of people that may not fit in your little camp, but God will use them to get you a word or a blessing if you will stay humble and have ears to hear!

God told David that when he heard the sound in the tops of the trees it will be time to win the battle.

When you hear marching in the tops of the trees?

What kind of army march in the tops of the trees? Angel armies, that's who!

Wow! I am going to rise up with some Angel Armies and defeat my enemies and become free to follow the Lord my God!

To do this you have to hear a sound everybody else cannot hear!

David heard what no one else was able to hear! Angle Armies!

Hearing the sound causes you to have faith for things you do not see or have the answers for.

Hearing the voice of the Spirit louder than any other is what sustains you through battles and hardships.

The ability for you to pass into a new season is the ability to hear that which is on the inside of you, not on the outside.

Say to yourself,

"I hear the sound of breakthrough."

"I hear the sound of deliverance."

"I hear the sound of a new season."

"I hear the sound of the God of Angel Armies."

Release the Sound from Within

In Acts 16:22 Paul and Silas were preaching the gospel to the people in Philippi. They were doing what they were called to do; what they were anointed to do. The people reacted by tearing the cloths off of Paul and Silas. The people ordered for them to be whipped:

And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw [them] into prison, commanding the jailer to keep them securely. Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God and the prisoners were listening to them. [Act 16:23-25 NKJV]

They told the jailer to lock them up tight and through them in to the inter prison.

But as they were singing praises to God Paul and Silas were releasing a sound.

They were releasing on the outside what they heard on the inside.

What are You hearing within your spirit?

What are You hearing inside from your heart?

No matter what it looks like in life or where you find yourself;

What are You Hearing?

When you begin to release what you are hearing on the inside it begins to release freedom that affects everybody and everything around you. All those who were jailed were made free.

You become an atmosphere setter by releasing the sounds that are within you.

Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's chains were loosed. [Act 16:26 NKJV]

As they were worshiping and praising God, suddenly there was a violent earthquake that shook the prison to its foundations. All at once all the doors opened and all the chains fell off of all the prisoners.

There is a sound being birthed in the hearts of those who have ears to hear that brings such a freedom the chains of bondage fall of you and everyone you come in contact with.

The sound that is birthed from the inside Elijah did not just bring rain to him, but to everyone in the land. What he heard ended the drought. What you hear can end the drought for many people if you have the courage to release it.

When you are in a really bad place, listen for the sound, and then release it by faith.

Sound affects the condition and the atmosphere of life to everyone.

Our sound with be consistent with the greatness of Our God!

Small God, small praise.

Mediocre God, mediocre praise.

Every now and then God, every now and then praise.

I will remind you again:

He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords!

He is the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last; the beginning and the end!

He is faithful and true!

He is the Healer. . .He is the deliverer!

He is the Baptizer. . He is the Redeemer!

He is the Restorer. . .He is the Might God!

He is the King of Glory!

His name is above every name!

There is nothing that our God cannot do!

There is nowhere our God cannot go!

There is no problem that is too big for our God!

There is no disease that is too great for Him to Heal!

There is nothing that our great God cannot do!

We have to remind ourselves that we have to hear the sound

burning in our spirit

burning in our hearts

burning in our live

That Our God is a Great God, a Might God, a Glorious God, a Powerful God!

He is the God who rules and reigns!

He is the God who speaks

He is the God who loves You!

He is the God who rejoices over you with singing!!

We are not as born again, spirit filled believers, supposed to live the rest of our lives only out of intellect and reasoning.

We are a supernatural people who hears a supernatural sound, so we can live supernatural lives.

We hear the sound this is the closing of one season and the beginning of another.

The same voice that told Jesus to get up out of the grave is the same voice telling you to get up out of your season and go into another. Get up for you are not stuck!

As Jesus heard the sound of the Father's voice in the grave say, "Arise My Love", so can you hear the same sound through the Spirit.

Arise for winter is over and Spring is here!
