Live and Walk in the Spirit

When we first come into knowledge of Jesus Christ and we have accepted him as our personal savior, we begin worshiping the Lord and learning of His ways. The more we learn the more we come into knowledge about ourselves. We start understanding how we are weak and frail. The more we learn of Jesus and our Heavenly Father, the more aware we become that we do not live holy, nor do we have the desire to be holy, without some kind of help. You will learn the plan God has put into place for our salvation is for us to become completely regenerated through works of Jesus Christ: body, soul, and spirit.

Through exposure to the Word of God, we start understanding the benefits of being holy like our Father which is holy, 1Peter 1:16. We learn that becoming saved, Jesus now lives in us (Ephesians 3:17) and we can use His strength as the help we need to start living holy. We can use the character of Jesus Christ to shape our character to be more like our Heavenly Father.

You should have been filled with the spirit when you were saved but the Church has been terrible about laying hands on those who have received Jesus as their Savior. When the Apostle Paul lead people into salvation he laid hands on them then so they could receive the Holy Spirit, Acts 19:2,5-6. If you have not been filled with the Spirit, you need to be. It is God's will that all the saved be filled with the Holy Spirit, Ephesians 5:17-18. Find someone that is filled with the spirit and have them lay hands on you to be baptized in the Spirit.

People who are saved and trying to live by the Spirit, but have not been baptized in the Spirit, are still living in the flesh because we only live in the Spirit by having the Holy Spirit in us. Paul said,

For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. [1Corinthians 2:11-12 NKJV]

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. [1Corinthians 2:14]

You do not have the Holy Spirit in you because you are saved. We need the Holy Spirit so that we quit being natural. Even the saved are natural because they do not have anything in them yet to desire and understand the things of the spirit. You receive the Holy Spirit by being filled with the Spirit, which is being baptized in the Spirit. Someone who is filled with the spirit lays hands on you and speaks the Holy Spirit into you. This is being filled with the spirit, Acts 8:14-17; 10:44-48; 19:2,5-6.

We need to be filled with the spirit so we can use and understand the things of the spirit, which are,

The Fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5:22.

The Gifts of the Spirit, 1Corinthians 12:1-10.

The Armor of God, Ephesians 6:10-18.

It should be the desire of all Christians to live and walk in the Spirit of God so we can become more and more holy while using our spiritual tools to benefit ourselves and others. We can overcome in life by using our spiritual tools provided by the Holy Spirit. But you must be first filled of the Spirit to gain understanding and knowledge how to use them.

We use the Fruit of the Spirit to take on the character of God and live holy.

We use the Gifts of the Spirit to help ourselves and others overcome the difficulties of life.

We use the Armor of God to stand against Satan and demonic attacks.

We have the power of the Holy Spirit so we can become everything we need to be for God and His kingdom. All saved individuals can be more than they are if we as saved people will take our spiritual gifts serious and actually use them. The reason people do not use them is because they are not filled of the spirit or they have not been exposed to those who can teach how to use the things of the spirit.

When you need to learn something and you feel you cannot learn well, use the power of the Holy Spirit in you to become all things for Christ who is your strength, Philippians 4:13. You can learn anything and you can do well using what you have learned.

When you are having troubles with concentration, depression, or retention, use the power of God through the Holy Spirit and claim the ability you need by speaking into your consciousness that you have these abilities through the Holy Spirit.

When you need something in the natural and you do not have the means to get it, speak it into being by commanding it to come forth in the power of the name of Jesus. Then start living with the responsibility it takes to obtain what you have commanded. It will manifest in the natural. Jesus did this all the time.

Living in the Spirit

All Christians would like to do these things which we have been talking about.

Everyone would like to be like Jesus and live the life he prepared for us through salvation.

The problem is Christians have not been made to understand they can live this way.

Paul said in Galatians 5:25, "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." He is teaching that if we want to live in the Spirit of God, we should be walking out our lives in the Spirit. We should be using our spiritual abilities in a way everyday life experiences are controlled by us, through the power we have in the Holy Spirit. We should be living in the Spirit in such a way we control how we learn, how we speak, and how we overcome difficulties. It takes living in the Spirit to do this. Paul also said in Galatians 5:24, "And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires." This means we chose to die to ourselves and live in the Spirit and not in the flesh. We use the power of God in us and do what is necessary in the spirit to complete what we need to do. This means we do not continually say "I Can't", but we face what our task or need is and we complete it, by the power of God in us. We do not need someone going before us, pumping us up, or helping us to do the things we need to do each day. We are able to stand in Christ and complete anything, without depending upon someone else to guide us.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

The literal translation:

I am all things for Him who energizes me.

You can do anything you need to for the kingdom of God and to help people understand who God the Father and Jesus Christ is.

People who are not saved and baptized in the Spirit do not have these abilities. The saved who live without the indwelling of the Spirit, are living in the leadership of the flesh, doing fleshly things, and they cannot understand the things of the Spirit. The Bible calls this being carnal which is still living in the flesh without the Holy Spirit, Romans 8:5,7. This is a saved person living in the natural because they do not understand the things of the spirit, 1Corinthians 2:14.

To live in the Spirit and walk in the Spirit requires you to crucify your self-ambitions and desires, and start living by the things of the Spirit, Romans 8:1-16.

Romans 8:14

As many are led by the Spirit of God these are the sons of God.

If you will choose each day to live in the Spirit and walk out your day by the power of the Holy Spirit that is in you, you will accomplish what you need to do. You will overcome the obstacles that you are facing, and you will be victorious in life.

You want to overcome the things of your flesh?. . .live and walk in the Spirit!

You want to be Holy?. . .live and walk in the Spirit!

You want to have wisdom and knowledge?. . .live and walk in the Spirit!

You want to help people and make a difference in the world?. . .live and walk in the Spirit!

You want to understand more in the Bible?. . .live and walk in the Spirit!

It is here, in the Spirit,

There is on sickness

There is no poverty

There is no sadness

There is no evil

There is no heartache

There is no power that can overcome you

There is no need

There is no place for confusion

There is no weakness

It is here, In the Spirit, you are able to live and do and have your being in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Galatians 5:16

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
