Transgender

The transgender debate is now dominating every culture, moving into areas of human rights, laws, and education, requiring that we as Christian people face up to that fact this subject is not going away because churches choose to ignore it. It cannot be dealt with by mandating people to accept what the issues are, nor by those who indorse this trend, demanding that they should be recognized as equals in society. There is a line that should be drawn in the sand, but the line is not if you are for or against the issues. The line is whether or not transgender is right.

Too often, Christians become judgmental over things they teach are wrong, while those who endorse these wrongs are simply discarded much like throwing away a bag of trash. The problem with this is, where is the humanity and compassion by the Christian community for anyone that is doing anything they disagree with? When it comes to the transgender issue or any issue to that matter, should Christians become like the Pharisee who was praying and said, "God, I thank you I am not like other men. . .(Luke 18:10); or should we be like the tax collector who did not even feel worthy to lift up his head and beating his breast said, "God, be merciful to me a sinner!" (Luke 18:13). We should always approach issues with a humble heart, remembering if it were not for the mercy of God working in us, we too could be the one on the other side of this issue.

Though we disagree with the social movement of transgenderism, we must have compassion and dignity for individuals who are struggling with gender dysphoria.

A man cannot become a woman and a woman cannot become a man.

God created the man and the woman as different human beings so humans can reproduce themselves. The chemical and biological structures of the human body were created by God to function as either man or woman to allow procreation. All living things procreate through a male or female type. Without this function there would be no procreation and the human being would not exist. Our chemical and biological structures dictate if you were created as a man or a woman.

The greatest claim for being transgender is that a man thinks or feels they are a woman, or a woman thinks or feels like they are a man. This is where the battle for transgender rights begins. The problem is female chromosomes cannot be engineered so they can be injected into a man, nor can male chromosomes be engineered for injection into a woman that will transfer their natural created human structure into what they are experiencing mentally or emotionally.

To transgender the created structure of a human, it takes an operation. That operation may alter the physical structure of a human body, but it will not alter the chromosomes that are in body. If you have an operation that changes your genital and bodily functions, you may be functioning in your new gender but you are still conditioned in your body to your created structure. There are chemical and biological structures in your body that has not been changed through an operation, because you are who God created you to be, male or female. Taking medications and injections have proven to build up the human body to enhance the new gender type, but it will not completely transfer the gender type. You would have to extract every chromosome and gender chemical or biological structure from the body for a complete transfer, which is impossible to do.

There is one exception, which is a person who was born as a morphydite. This is a person that was born with both male and female organs. This type person would have good reasons for needing an operation and eliminating one or the other gender organs from their body. They still will be dealing with many other problems because of the chemical and biological structures that could remain in a morphydites' body. They would have the possibility of having both male and female chromosomes or biological structure that could cause a complex identity situation. Unless you are born as a morphydite you would not be dealing with these issues in your created state.

The brain structure of male and female brains are different.

A man's brain has separated nerve endings for either the right side of the brain or the left side of his brain. This causes a man to have emotions for things happening in one side of his brain while having activity doing something else on the other side of his brain. Women on the other hand, do not have these separation nerve endings and their emotions are connected to both sides of their brain, all at the same time. This is why women tend to be much more emotional than men, and why men tend to separate their thoughts without necessarily having emotions involved with their thinking.

Dr. Gregory L. Jantz explains how this works in his article, Brain Differences Between Genders:

Before boys or girls are born, their brains developed with different hemispheric divisions of labor. The right and left hemispheres of the male and female brains are not set up exactly the same way. For instance, females tend to have verbal centers on both sides of the brain, while males tend to have verbal centers on only the left hemisphere. This is a significant difference. Girls tend to use more words when discussing or describing incidence, story, person, object, feeling, or place. Males not only have fewer verbal centers in general but also, often, have less connectivity between their word centers and their memories or feelings. When it comes to discussing feelings and emotions and senses together, girls tend to have an advantage, and they tend to have more interest in talking about these things.

Dr. Jantz also explained the chemical differences in the gender brain process:

Male and female brains process the same neurochemicals but to different degrees and through gender-specific body-brain connections. Some dominant neurochemicals are serotonin, which, among other things, helps us sit still; testosterone, our sex and aggression chemical; estrogen, a female growth and reproductive chemical; and oxytocin, a bonding-relationship chemical.

These are just two of the many important differences in the chemical and biological structures of the male and female brain, thus making it impossible to completely change your gender through medical procedures. There is simply too many factors that have to be changed in order to have a successful transgender metamorphosis. You would still be left with the male or a female brain you were born with, though you endured the gender change operation.

Where the transgender concept came from.

The fact that a person feels the need to transgender and is struggling with the moral justification of their feelings is an indicator to them this is not right. God placed within all humans the conscious ability to immediately know right from wrong. You do not have to be a Bible scholar to understand what is right and what is wrong. We actually have to talk ourselves into something first by trying to justify it in our minds before we will go ahead and do it. All people are this way. This is why a child will be sneaky just before they do something that is wrong. This is why adults will not do in the open things that they will do in secret, because they know it is wrong and they do not want to be blamed or talked out of the action they are wanting to do.

Here are scriptures that testify this to be true.

  • Your own mouth condemns you, and not I; Yes, your own lips testify against you. [Job 15:6]

  • Who condemns his way to his face? And who repays him for what he has done? [Job 21:31]

  • He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, Both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD. [Pro 17:15]

  • Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. [Rom 8:34]

  • For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. [1Jo 3:20]

So where does the desire to do wrong come from?

In Roman Chapter 5 the Apostle Paul gives the revelation that sin entered the world through Adam and it was passed upon all people through his sin (8:17). Because it was passed upon all of Adam's offspring, all people are capable of doing wrong (8:18,19). Our wrong has condemned us, making us punishable unto death; but thanks be to God through Jesus Christ we have life and forgiveness (Romans 6:23). The sin nature we received through Adam has resulted in us having a bent nature to go after things that are wrong and even abominable in the sight of God. Paul tells us that this bent nature is from the desires of the flesh (Romans 8:5). Galatians 5:19-21 gives us a list of things that is the works of the flesh. One of the things listed in verse 19 is uncleanness. The desire that is generate from the bent human nature, rises up in a person and will cause them to justify their feelings that they are not the gender they were born to be. This evil desire is then empowered by a spirit of homosexuality that comes from the works of Satan and his hordes of demons (Eph. 2:2). Man is capable of developing sin on his own, however, the demonic world is pushing the feelings of homosexual and transgender concepts to convince people this is not wrong, and that they were created to be changed.

If people were created to be changed, then God made a mistake when he created this person and He, God, was not capable of creating them in the manner He wanted them to be. You should be able to see how this mindset demeans who God truly is.

Where does the Bible teach transgender is wrong?

The word "Transgender" is not in the bible, but man desiring to be like a woman or a woman desiring to be like a man is in the bible.

  • The law condemns anyone who wished to dress like the other gender than the one they were born to be.

A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman's garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the LORD your God. [Deuteronomy 22:5 NKJV]

If a person is has feelings of wanting to be a different gender they will want to dress and be like the other gender. God looks as this as an abomination.

  • The Bible condemns anyone who lays with a person of their same gender. You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. [Lev 18:22 NKJV]

If you have a relationship with anyone of the opposite sex after undergoing transgender, God considers it as an abomination because you still have the brain and biological structure of the gender you were born in.

  • God gives them up to their vile passions because they are changing their natural use.

Romans 1:24-27 [NKJV]

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

  • The abominable person will not abide in God's bless.

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. [Rev 21:8 NKJV]

So what can be done now?

All truth comes from listening to the argument and then letting God and the Holy Spirit give you the answers. Most people are not willing to receive answers of truth because too often truth will not agree with the things we have made our minds to accept. Remember we have a bent nature due to sin. The only way to get around our bent nature is to become Holy as our Father in heaven is holy (Leviticus 20:7; 1Peter 1:15-16).

People are quick to accept wrong in their minds because our mind has two sides to it. There is the spirit of the mind (Eph 4:23-24) that is renewed daily by the Word and the power of the Holy Spirit; and there is the flesh of the mind (Eph 2:3) that follows the bent nature of sin. Whichever side we feed most is the one that controls our thinking and our motivations. If you live according to the world you will follow the spirit of the one who works in the sons of disobedience (Eph. 2:2). If you follow the Spirit you will do the things of the Spirit (Ephesians. 3:16; Romans 8:9,11).

The confusion behind the transgender argument is due to Satan wanting the foundation of the family completely destroyed. Those who are trying to justify the transgender movement are causing a deconstruction of any true identity as father, a mother, a son, or a daughter. It causes people to battle whether to be a wife or a husband.

Every part of man has been affected from the results of sin. The human has a bent nature that can keep them from doing what is right in the sight of God. By salvation through faith in Jesus Christ any and all sin is forgiven. With salvation Jesus abides in you and you have the nature of God indwelling in you. God's nature is shown in the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22). All who are saved have these Godly characteristics in them. Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit to indwell in us through baptism of the Spirit, which gives us the power to actually maintain the holy nature of God that is in us. Without the spirit through Holy Spirit baptism (being filled of the spirit) we do not have the ability to maintain Godly character. We might be able to live out some of God's character by using the Word of God to renew our minds, but the flesh has desires that are bent and pulls us away from the holy character of God that lives in us through salvation. Once we have the Holy Spirit living in us, we can overcome our fleshly desires and grow in the power of the Holy Spirit that lives in us. This power, is our ability to overcome sin that lives in our members.

People who struggle with the bent desires of being transgender can overcome their feelings through salvation in Jesus Christ and being Holy Spirit filled, to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh.

Christians who do not battle this immorality must be there for those who do. We must be there, praying for them that the fleshly desires and the demonic oppression is broken off of them. Their liberty will come through Christians caring for them enough to show them these truths, and share with them the love of God, being forgiving and compassionate.

Christians must be forgiving and not judgmental. We have to show those struggling with this problem that God forgives them and that we forgive them. We cannot show forgiveness with malice, because we all have a bent nature through Adam that must be maintained and controlled.

We all have to realize people struggling with this may be going through several emotions.

  • Feelings of shame because they understand it is wrong.

  • Feelings of loneliness because people have shunned them or they feel they will be shunned and the feel all alone.

  • Wondering what God thinks of them. Will he forgive them, or have they went too far?

  • They may be going through feelings of pride, thinking they can do what they want.

  • Believing the lie that God will accept them as they are as long as they worship him, He understands them.

As Christians, we must be compassionate in our attitudes and show dignity to all who struggle with issues of immorality, because love is what will help them know they can overcome this thing. Love and understand is what shows compassion. Rage and outburst of judgments makes a person feel rejected and useless. Allowing someone to see you love them beyond anything their sin nature has pulled them into, assures them they are not alone in their struggle.

We must be available and open to anyone struggling with this problem and be willing to listen to them.

When someone is struggling they need companionship, understanding, and love.

There are only three things that really causes people to change: God, Love, and Children.

The love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts that we know we are the Children of God (Romans 5:5; 8:11,16).

We are told to Love one another (John 13:34).

Your children extend love to you because they are your children. This will change a person because you will do things for a child you will not do for yourself. Love moves us to do right, and children love you because you are, not because of what you do. Children want to be with their parents at Christmas more than they want a gift. Because they love you, not the gift.

God, Love, and Children are the things that truly change people and Jesus is all three.

He is God, Emmanuel, God with us.

He is love, He loves us enough He died on the cross for our sins.

He is a Child, the son of God.

The gospel of Jesus Christ has the power to completely change everything about you, even your bent nature to follow after perversions and abominations.

Ask God if trans gendering is something you should be doing.

Compare what you learn to the Word of God, the Bible.

Get saved if you are not.

Become baptized in the Spirit if you are not.

Then let the power of the Holy Spirit help you to change what is not holy in you.
