Who I Am in Christ

Once you have learned who you are in Christ you start becoming confidant in who you truly are.

To find out who you are in Christ, you must start listening to Him.

He will talk with you and He will start showing you the specifics of you are.

The more you listen to the voice of God the more you actually find out about yourself.

To find out who you are in Christ there are some things you must understand:

1. You must understand that Christ has given us all spiritual blessings so that we can be Holy as God is holy. Ephesians 1:3-7

2. You must understand we were made alive in Christ. Ephesians 2:1-8.

3. You must understand we were given everything pertaining to life and godliness. 2Peter 1:2-10.

4. You must understand we are hidden in Christ.

Colossians 3:2-10.

5. You must understand God wants us to put on a new man.

Colossians 3:12-17.

6. You must understand Gods wants us to be baptized in water. Mathew 28:18-20.

7. You must understand it is Gods will to be filled in the Spirit. Ephesians 5:17-18.

When you find out who you are to Christ, then you start to find out who you are to the Body of Christ; how you fit into the Kingdom of God and His Church, which is his body (Colossians 1:24).

Everyone has a place in Christ. Once you have found that place you start gaining more confidence in yourself and you start seeing why you were created.

Then you must become trained in your purpose. It is not enough to just learn who you are in Christ, you must be trained to know how to do what it is God wants you to do. Training can be in different forms: Formal education, mentor . . . . ., Bible. . . .Holy Spirit. . .

All of my training and education did not give me satisfaction or confidence in myself like knowing who I am to Jesus Christ and the Body of Christ. This liberated me from anyone being able to keep me from my purpose or direction to fulfill Philippians 4:13.

My pastor, Scott Howard of Life Church in Mobile, Alabama, USA, presented us a card in church years ago that lists the many things we are in Christ. I cannot improve on this list so am posting it as he wrote it on the card. It is also posted under subject "Christ" in this library.

Walk These Out in the Power of the Holy Spirit.

The key to understanding each of these items listed above is working them out in yourself.

You have to walk out each one of these things in the power of the Holy Spirit, then you see how true they really are. Until you walk something out, you will only believe them by faith. Once you have walked it out, you will know by experience they are true.
